I am giving a user permissions for only one app - ideally I would like them to go straight to that app when they login (rather than the home page and then have to select that app). Is there a way to do this without code?

Hi,
Yes you can set the Home action for each users from the Users form view. In the users form view, under the preference tab you can see the Home Action.
