I saw in the documentation that when companies use multiple warehouses and they want to do inter-warehouse transfer, they need to use replenishment. Why is that? Why can't I use the Internal Transfer operation type only?

You have to do internal transfer manually which takes time instead of that if the route for a Replenishment was set then your transfer will automatically validated...
e.g: If a sales order is generated from Warehouse B and there is no stock in Warehouse B, you must manually transfer stock from Warehouse A to Warehouse B before you can continue with Warehouse B's operations. If you use Replenishment, it will automatically transfer products from A to B according to the route you have set.
Hope this helps you...
But if I only want to transfer my stock to another warehouse, I can just use Internal Transfer, right?
I'll set the Operation Type to Internal Transfers, set the Source and Destination Location, the products, and validate.
In internal transfer, you have to set everything manually, but in replenish, you don't. Replenish is a one-time process that will run every time.
Hi Mike,
with Replenishment you can trigger multiple step delivery/receipt too. But with an internal location, no.
