We have set up a new outgoing mail server for our EmailMarketing-MassMailing (IONOS-MAIL-SRV).
We still want to send Transactional Emails the standard Odoo Mail Server
...but the Transactional emails get sent by this EmailMarketing dedicated Mail Server too
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
In Configuration>Technical>Outgoing mail servers :
For EmailMarketing (NOT transactional emails) : We have set up a new outgoing mail server : IONOS-MAIL-SRV
which we have selected in Configuration > Email Marketing :
[v]dedicated Server : IONOS-MAIL-SRV
BUT :
Transactional Emails instead of being still sent via the standard Odoo Mail Server, are sent via the IONOS-MAIL-SRV outgoing mail server
As described in the official Odoo documentation : https://www.odoo.com/documentation/13.0/applications/general/email_communication/email_servers.html
we expect that:
* TRANSACTIONAL emails should be sent via the standard Odoo Mail Server -
* MASS MAILING/EMAIL-MARKETING emails should be sent by our added IONOS-MAIL-SRV outgoing mail server
How to fix it to set 2 different outgoing mail servers correctly: one for transactional and the other for EmailMarketing ?

In the documentation it says to use your own servers click this check box.
The option is binary you can ether use your own or Odoos, odoo is not a email service provider. They do not want to send your email for your. but they are not going to sell a product that does not work out of the box ether so you get a freebee.
You need to add a second email server or use mailgun at you can use multiple IP addresses there and fork them on the mailgun side.
I have noticed exactly the same problem with Odoo 15 and 16.
We have set a new dedicated outgoing mail server only for marketing mails.
All settings are done correct, but no matter what we select, every marketing campaign always is sent via the default transactional email server.
It seems like there is a bug where Odoo has hardcoded the mail server via ID or something because it's not working how the documentation is explaining.
I can reproduce this bug on every version from v14 to v17
