In Openerp 7 I installed an addon called partner_firstname. Is this feature bundled into Odoo 9? If not, is the addon available for Odoo 9? If not, will the addon I used for openerp 7 work in Odoo 9?

Hi Donald,
You cannot use the module of v7 directly. What you can do is the partner_firstname module is available for v8.

Download that and correct the xpath expressions in view file to make it work in odoo 9. As the form view structure of contact form is different in v9. I can help you to fix that.
Thanks Akhil. I will download that V8 version of the module and see if I can figure out how to adapt it. If I have trouble I will post a follow-up to this message. If we get it to work can we advertise it so others may use it in V9?
I looked at the Odoo V8 module and compared to the V9 package to try to figure out what changes to make. If you don't mind I'll definitely need the help you offered to make it work for V9. Thanks Akhil.
