Unfortunately migrating is not an easy process in Odoo. See the post below where the answer marked as best describes the migration with OpenUpgrade to some extend. I also suggest to read the instructions on the OpenUpgrade website carefully. Unfortunately there is no one-easy-fix-for-all solution.
