My  Odoo is installed in the Linode Server. The Odoo is up and running but when I set up my outgoing email, it returns an error that the email server is unreachable. My configurations are correct, password etc.


Is there any configuration on the Linode server?

In Linode Server, you have to contact support to open the port for email communication. By default, it will be closed.

Execute this command to see if it's connecting:-

telnet smtp.gmail.com 465

Checking port 465 for smtp.gmail.com

This is correct, i just contacted the linode support and they will open the port. Thanks

It looks like an incorrect configuration in the SMTP or a Firewall rule.

Can you put the SMTP details and the error than Odoo is showing up?

Is the SMTP from a private server or from a public like hotmail/Gmail? If is a private one, try with and SMTP you're sure than works outside the Linode+Odoo environment.
