I'm using the free version of Odoo with the website and e-commerce apps, but I can't find any field to set a product quantity. I only have unique, one-time-buy products.

Is this limitation intended to force me to purchase other apps? I'm using the online version, so I'm restricted to Odoo apps. Adding any more apps will require a subscription.

Is such a simple feature really not included in the free version? It doesn't make sense to me.

Additional Infos after Yuris response:

1) i only sell unique products, there arent two of the same! So i need to set a quantity, to avoid complaints by people who buy the same product twice or multiple times (i cant even disable the quantity selector?!)

2) i dont have storable product as type availble, only service. Service has no quantity tho.

I think the problem is, that free odoo (not local, not odoo_sh) doesent come with the storage module, therefore you are limited to service or infinite product quantitites. A weird strategy to force people to get the storage module and a paid sub.

@Yurii I have to comment here as the forum doesent allow me to write an answer or write a comment under your post. Unfortunately your suggestions wont work for me.

I dotn wanna say this was made to force people buy the module, but its suspicious as quantity is something pretty basic in my eyes.

@Jaideep I sell Arts. It's kinda unfair that people who sell mass production products can use it for free and simple artists with less products and unique products need to pay to make it work.

Yes, it is rather unfortunate that the pricing isn’t favorable to include inventory module.

I would recommend creating each art work as an independent product rather than having for example ‘painting’ as a product with multiple options (not sure if you have already done so)

On a sale you could then easily unpublish the piece so it isn’t available any longer to buy by other customers on the ecommerce shop.

The assumption here is also that the description and website pages is reiterating that there is only 1 piece to sell of each product.

Probably there are possibilities to configure advanced pricelists to limit anyone from adding more than 1 qty, but am not sure what volumes of transactions you expect to warrant it.

Hope these suggestions are helpful

@Jaideep Ye I already added them items without variances. I try to remove the qty selection with the web editor and maybe switch from online payment to request only. I think that's more easier to handle. I don't expect dozens of people to visit my site anyway. But it's really unfortunate for certain products/people (artists).

If you are using the 1 app free it wouldn’t give you access to inventory app. Inventory is the app where you would be able to update your stock and seems you have unique products so would need to track products by serial numbers.

All these functionalities are in the inventory module.

Ecommerce app unfortunately does not include inventory in their free offering.

Again it isn’t clear from your post as to what is product attributes that aren’t being captured with customer orders

Hi,

Using the user interface tools, like by using the website editor or by directing editing in the views, you can make the quantity changer inactive or removed, by this you can ensure always single product is selected. If the product is added multiple times to cart, raise some validation error using automated actions in the backend, so that the order placing will not go through

Thanks

Hi Marcel,

Your information could not be enough, but let me propose your two scenarios for your case.

1) If you set the "Consumable" type for your products, in this case products will be always "in stock". So, you do not need to set the product quantity manually.

2) Otherwise, if your products are "Storable", to add products in your Stock Location, use the following actions:

This way you can update the product quantity without purchases or manufacturing.
