When I make a purchase order my supplier send me a .xls with barcode, name, qty. He obviously does not know my Odoo external id.
What I would like to do is go to my supplier's .xls, copy the barcode column, and paste it in the search box in Odoo, so I can then extract a file with all the files external ids and adjust inventory, make name changes etc.
Is there anyway I can do this? a plugin?

You can export a file with all the external IDs and Barcodes of your products.
Then, you can populate a new column with the external IDs in the .xls file of your vendor. You can use Excel functions to do this.
Finally, you can import the proper columns of this .xls files in Odoo.
