Dear all

I need to manage several shops as departments in Odoo10e, and need to be able to analyse sales, costs, revenue, stock, etc. for each department.

I'm looking for at better way than using analytical accounting and came across the multicompany feature. Here it is possible to create daughter-companies without their own chart of accounts. This is necessary as the shops are not legal entities of their own, but merely just branches of the mother company.

Question: Anybody having experience with this, and what would you recommend?

Question: If multicompany is not the way to go, how is best practice in Odoo10e to solve issue with departments.

Thanks in advance.

Check out Operating Units now available for ODOO 10 at:

https://github.com/OCA/operating-unit

(from repository description)

"An Operating Unit (OU) is an organizational entity part of a company, but that operates as an independent unit. Organizationally, an Operating Unit divides a company from a Business/Divisional axis, while Departments divide a company from a functional axis perspective.

This repository provides a suite of modules to support the Operating Unit concept across all Odoo processes."
