Could it really be that this has moved to an "enterprise" only feature?
Can't seem to find any way to activate this in Odoo 9 community edition.

In community, module named 'Recurring Documents', that will recur your invoice.
To create recuring document (Activate debug mode) => Go to Setting > Technical > Automation > Recurring Document
