I did not see a forum specific to the Calendar app, so going to ask my question here. I am currently in the trial period, and setting things up to see how I can make odoo work for me and my company. So far, so good.
What I am wondering is I see no way to set a buffer in the appointments (between appointments), and I don't see any way to charge for my appointments, is that because I do not have a subscription yet, or are these features not available in the Calendar app?

Hi! The Calendar app doesn’t support buffers or payments directly. You’ll need the Appointments module for time gaps and eCommerce/Website to charge for bookings. It’s not related to being on a trial.
Install and configure the Appointments app, not just Calendar, to unlock buffer time and payment options. The standard Calendar app is more of a scheduling app—it doesn't handle booking or payment logic.
