Dear All,

I am using Odoo CE v15 and I have upgraded in odoo 16 CE (using OpenUpgrade).

I am using OCA modules.

Now with the new feature in Enterprise Edition, I want to migrate from CE to EE.

Questions :

  • Use case 1 : CE -> EE : Which is the impact if using extra OCA modules allready upgraded?
  • Use case 2 : EE with OCA modules : Odoo Enterprise will migrate the Database BUT we still need to migrade OCA modules with OpenUpgrade ?

I have received different version from Odoo and Integrators.

Hi,


Migrating from Odoo CE to EE with OCA modules requires caution. Many OCA modules are CE-focused and may duplicate features already included in EE, causing redundancy or conflicts.

If you've already upgraded OCA modules via OpenUpgrade, they can be reused in EE, but only after testing for compatibility and avoiding overlap with EE features.

Odoo's Enterprise migration service covers only official core modules. OCA modules still need to be upgraded and migrated separately.

Best practice is to test in a staging EE environment: reinstall necessary OCA modules, disable redundant ones, and ensure all models and views align with EE standards.
