Yes, you can migrate an Odoo 15 Enterprise database to Odoo 17 Enterprise using the official Odoo Enterprise Upgrade service.
However, the upgrade service only handles standard Odoo modules; it does not upgrade custom modules for you.
Before sending your database, you must remove or disable all custom modules and provide a database that runs cleanly on vanilla Odoo 15.
Odoo will upgrade only the core database structure and data, returning a database compatible with Odoo 17.
After receiving the upgraded database, your team must manually migrate, rewrite, or adapt all custom modules to Odoo 17’s API and features.
Once custom modules are updated, you can install them again into the upgraded Odoo 17 database.
If a custom module contains fields, models, or data structures, you must include custom migration scripts to handle changes during installation.
So yes, migration is possible, but custom modules require separate manual migration after the official upgrade.
