for example:

Period = 1/5/2018 to 25/5/2018 Employee=Roger absent on 2/5/2018 and 17/5/2018 Total Absent= 2 times

you can use orm method search_count() of attendance record for particular employee record within your time span. compare it, if any record is not created on particular date, then take it as absent
