Hi Everyone,

 

I have a problem with defining product/BoM variants in Odoo 11 Enterprise. A company (for example) is a door manufacturer which has one end product with 2 variants: metal frame and glass frame, while its component (door panel) has three variants (colours): Red, White, and Black. The black door panel is used for metal frame, while the other two door panels will be used for glass frame door. My real case, however, has a lot of such components and variants such that it is very time consuming to define their BOM manually. I am wondering if there is a module or any addons in Odoo to automatically link product variant to component variant in this case? I would be also grateful if you possibly know a third-party app that is already available to my needs.

There is no such an addon is available in the app store I think. And setting up the BOM's is a one time process. Once you have set it up you can work on it easily.

Hi Mohsen,

I think you will need to develop a custom module for your requirement in which you can add o2m / m2m fields in product/template and add all the related components.

Hello Mohsen,

There can't be a module which can tell that the black panel goes into a metal frame and a glass frame can take up either red or white panel. You would need to tell Odoo for your choices of manufacturing. For this particular case though and in general you can use separate BoM per product variant and that's already available ( BoM per variant).
