In Odoo, both “Drop Shipping Subcontractor” and “Resupply Subcontractor” are routes you can use when dealing with subcontractors, but they serve different purposes:
Resupply Subcontractor: This route is used when you have the components in your stock and you want to resupply your subcontractor via a delivery order (transfer). This means you’re sending materials from your own warehouse to the subcontractor.
Drop Shipping Subcontractor: This route is used when you want the supplier of the component to send the component directly to your subcontractor. This means the materials are sent directly from the supplier to the subcontractor, bypassing your own warehouse.
Based on your description, it sounds like you’re ordering components to go directly to the subcontractor. In this case, you would likely want to use the “Drop Shipping Subcontractor” route. This will allow the supplier of the components to send them directly to the subcontractor.
However, please note that if you have both routes activated in the product form, only Drop Shipping will work, which means that independently of the stock level, a Drop Shipping order will be created for that. You need to unselect “Dropship: supplier to subcontractor” to be able to resupply directly the subcontractor from your warehouse.
