Is it possible for the ecommerce search function to search for defualt_code (Internal Reference)?

Odoo default search applied searching on product default code. You can find it’s code on website_sale module.

Could you, or anyone else please elaborate on where in website_sale I can find and alter the default search. Any code examples or help on what exactly needs to altered would be very helpful.
