Can anybody guide me .I am running odoo 18 for my restaurent business. My manufacturing is in kgs (any veg prep). But when I am selling I am selling in gms . 


So after manufacturing  1 kg veg , I am selling 180 gms of veg / portion . in point of sale I have to sell per unit (180 gms / portion ).


Where and how can I adjust 1 unit = 180 gms in the system . now in current situation 1 unit = 1 gm , which is killing my inventory. 



Secondly if I am saling this same veg as alacarte ,my portion is 180 gms ,but when I am selling in combo the portion size becomes 140 gms . how can I do for 2 different portion size .


Anyone can advise ?

Portion would be smaller than standard and ratio would be 1000/180 = 5.5556
Similarity combo would be 1000/140 = 7.1429

You would need to test as mentioned in the answer this is dependent on your ordering process.

The accurate way would be to convert weight to units using a mfg operation.

It is possible to define by creating new. Navigate to Settings > Sales > Unit of Measure (Product catalog section)

In the weight UoM category, create Portion and Combo portion as smaller than unit of measure and provide the ratios.

Also, do ensure to make the product's UoM as Portion so it would default to this UoM on order.

This might work in most cases, however the most accurate would be to have the product UoM as 'units' and use Mfg operation to convert Kgs to portions.
