Hello,

We are encountering an issue in Odoo 17 while working with orders in the Manufacturing (MRP) module. The error occurs when we try to use items in a BoM that belong to a different Unit of Measure (UoM) category than the main product.

Steps to Reproduce:

Create a BoM for a main product with a specific Unit of Measure category.

Add components to the BoM with different Unit of Measure categories than the main product.

When validating or saving the order, we receive the following error message:

"The unit of measure %s defined on the order line doesn't belong to the same category as the unit of measure %s defined on the product. Please correct the unit of measure defined on the order line or on the product, they should belong to the same category."

Expected Behavior:

We expect the system to allow us to use items in the BoM with different UoM categories, or at least provide guidance on how to properly configure different UoMs in a BoM without conflicts.

Additional Information:

Odoo version: 17

We are looking for a solution to either bypass this restriction or correctly set up the UoMs in a BoM to handle components with different categories than the main product.

Any advice or configuration changes to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance!

"I understand that the message is a control between the product category in the order and the category of the main product. After reviewing the stock rule in the code, this is what I suppose, but I will try your suggestion."

I don't think the problem related to uom of main product, but I suspect the problem is in your BoM components .

Have you tried to remove all BoM Components and then re-adding the BoM Components again?
