Unable to import employees with their departments

Question

Hello World,
I am trying to set up Odoo for our IT department.  Firstly,  I have created the departments using import function.
However, an error is shown when I am trying to import a employee with the department information in CSV. It says the department does not exists. Am i missing something?

Thank you for your prompt response. If I understand it correctly, I can import only using the internal id not the department name itself. Is that correct?.  I still can't import a new employee into an existing department. Someone help me.

Please read the documentation first: https://www.odoo.com/documentation/user/10.0/general/base_import/import_faq.html and then do perform an import-compatible export first to get a CSV-template to structure your import data. If you want to import related data such as departments, you have to import or enter all departments first in order to get their external ID for the import.
