For a rally team I am in Odoo 16 community, processing stock but getting stuck.
Each car owner brings his own stock of parts. beyond that, there is also a general stock.
If parts are needed for a car they should first be taken from their own stock if in stock if not they may be taken from the general stock and in the worst case from other owners.
I have created several warehouses 1 general and then for all the different owners. (in those warehouses there are the different locations defined, boxes where what material is in)
Now if I enter this as the standard warehouse for e.g. owner 1, it works for the stock available for that owner, but once it runs out, it starts wanting to make offers instead of doing a transfer from the general warehouse.
any tips on how to solve this ?

On each of the car owner‘s WH, you can select resupply from general WH
Inventory > Configuration > Warehouses
You can also unselect buy to resupply option on owner warehouses and use only general WH to buy.
thanks in advance for the tip. When I do this and I set the default department store to this of the owner, he takes the items there as long as there is stock.
If it runs out there then he creates a backorder.
He does not generate a transfer from the main warehouse where there is enough stock for that product.
I have selected resupply from main warehouse.
What is the trigger for generating the inventory operation?
Apart from the backorder, you should also have the balance quantities visible on the replenishments. You might require to select preferred route and create order or set trigger to auto
Found indeed still had to set the triggers on the product to create the transfer. Now it does it as it should.
