A little context:
I have a manufacturing company and we produce different types of plastic products. Some time, during the production, these products can damage or not pass some of the quality control points. However, we can recover these products by diluting them in a posterior manufacturing order.
Let me explain:
Product A has a BoM and can be manufactured.
- Lot 1 of product A didn't pass the control points. We produced 10kgs of product.
- Lot 2 of product A passed all the control points. We produced 10kgs of product.
- R&D and the Quality departments determined that Lot 1 can be recovered by diluting 0.5kg of lot 1 into the 10kg of lot 2. Resulting in 10.5 kg of product A that can be used and pass the respective checks.
What would be the best way to deal with this situation?
Is there a way to create a self-consuming manufacturing order, in which one of the items of the BoM is the final product?
