I want to create an inventory system link this:
Long version:
We can use a vast variety of raw inputs to our manufacturing processes. I'm struggling with how to categorize and organize them to make them quick and easy to identify when creating BOMs.
I initially started with creating attributes and variations but seemed to be getting quick cumbersome as it creates many combinations that aren't possible. I then looked into using product configuration to limit some of the options but I'm not sure that's the proper route either though I am still exploring.
I've also been playing with the idea of creating custom fields tied to a product category or even possibly a product type.
Any advise or thoughts on the best practice for creating this type of inventory infrastructure?
