When I have a product that needs to be weighted like a fruit, how can I configure that?

In the example provided, configure the unit price of the product as price per kg. with a unit of measure of Kgs. You can then enter the weight in the quantity field.
You may have to go to Sales > Configuration > Settings and enable the Units of Measure feature to be able to use Kgs as a UoM, if you have not done so already.
