I've installed the PLM & Manufacturing module in V14 Enterprise.
I expected to be able to find within my manufacturing order for which product/BOM version this manufacturing order was generated. however it doesn't seem to be there.
Also within the serial number information I'm not able to trace this back.
Same things goes for the version of the components I'm using in the manufacturing order.

The Bill of Material used at the time is linked to the Manufacturing Order.
Even when future Bill of Materials are created during product revisions, you have access not only to the version of the Bill of Material, but the list of components used at the time the Manufacturing Order was completed.
The version is updated on the product template as well the miscellaneous tab on the BOM. You can navigate to this information from MO clicking BOM and miscellaneous tab.
Rightly so as the revision is of the product/ BOM and not of the MO itself.
You're comments are correct, but this doesn't take away the concern I'm having. As one of the main purposes of a version is traceability, which you are lacking on historical data as you only have the version on your masterdata and it's not copied over to your transactional data (orders f.e.)
