We use an alpha character for Revision control and not numeric for engineered parts in inventory. (example: Part #123456-400-01 Rev A)  All engineering drawings use an alpha character for revisions.  How can the [Version] field(s) and script configurations be modified to recognize alpha instead of numeric?

Is it as simple as updating the Field Type from integer to char? If so, are other changes required elsewhere?

We prefer to use the features of PLM but would be limited if it must remain numeric.  Approved ECO's would need to increase [Version] alphabetically to agree with the associated revised cad drawings.
