Odoo 17: Enterprise & Community (we tried in Both)

We have a Groceries  store in India. We have a common issue related to Products Prices. Here is an Example:

On January 1, 2023 we bought 100 units Surf Excel Detergent Powder (Pack of 1 kg) from Vendor A having its Maximum Retail Price: 130.00 at a standard company Rate Calculated as (MRP/1.08) at a discounted price of 2% i.e. (130/1.08=120.37 - 2% = 117.96 (i.e. its purchase Price ). 117.96 x 100 Units: = 11796.00 total Bill prices.

We sell this Item  with a formula of MRP - 1.05 % i.e. 130 - 1.95 = 128.05.

Here comes the Actual Problem.

in Next 10 days we sold 80 Units and started to replenish Inventory.

We placed order for 100 quantity to the same Vendor A.

Vendor Sent same product Surf Excel Detergent Powder (Pack of 1 kg), Same Barcode but with new MRP of 135. and as per same formula of computation: (i.e. 135/1.08 - 2% = 122.5 x 100 Units= 12250.00

=====

Now our inventory has : 20 Units of MRP 130 and 100 Units of MRP 135

How do we Handle this situation in Odoo.

Is there anyway we can manage One Item with different Prices and select there MRP during POS Sale? Please note that Same Vendor (for Supply), Same customer, Same Product even same barcode.

We studied lots of Pricing options such as Multiple Price list. But these price lists deal with Quantity based discount or customer Category based pricing.

Hi,

This can be handled by the FIFO costing method in odoo. By the costing method as FIFO, the cost field will not update and gets added only when the product leaves the stock (sale order).
It tracks the costs of incoming and outgoing items in real time and uses the real price of the products to change the valuation. The oldest purchase price is used as the cost for the next good sold until an entire lot of that product is sold.

Hope it helps

First of all thanks for your healthy advise, I will try this out but I have a confusion whether this for the valuation of Stock or it will impact the 'sale price' of Item in Point of Sale ?

It didn't work. its just for stock valuation purpose only.
