Hello


I'm an administrator of the database in v17.


We manage two companies within this base.


I have access and I am a administrator on both companies.



I must have made a mistake, because now I can't edit some users.


When I click on a user, I get the following message:


Access Error

Oops! It looks like you've stumbled upon some top secret recordings. 


Sorry, Administrator (id=9) doesn't have 'read' access To: - Contact (res.partner) 


If you really need access, you may be able to convince your friendly administrator by offering them homemade cookies.




If I change companies, the problem is the same.


Hoping someone has the solution?

The first error seems to be about access to res.partner and the second seems to be a Record Rule for company access. But it's quite difficult to give more advice based on the screenshots. Sorry!

I just saw that by clicking on my user,



I get this message:

- Contact, FRUIROUGE & COMPAGNIE 20 (res.partner: 7, company=FRUIROUGE & COMPAGNIE 20)


The fault of the following rules: - res.partner company


Note: This may be a multi-company issue.


Changing companies can help - in Odoo, not in real life!


If you really need access, maybe you can convince your friendly admin by offering them some homemade cookies.



However, I have access to both companies:

It looks as if you aren't authorized to the res.partner model (Contacts).

Normally, all users are members of one of the application groups so that gives access, and they will also be internal users:

If you have Administration / User Access that will also inherit Internal User:

Maybe you can review those and check your setup.

Enable developer mode, sign on as an administrator and navigate to Technical > (Database Structure) > Models - and then select Contact (res.partner)
