I want to prevent producing source MO before child MO is produced. How can we do that?
system should prevent it if a user tries to produce Source MO
Odoo is the world's easiest all-in-one management software.
It includes hundreds of business apps:
I want to prevent producing source MO before child MO is produced. How can we do that?
system should prevent it if a user tries to produce Source MO
You can achieve this requirement by using the "Restrict Production Lots" feature. This feature allows you to restrict the production of a parent manufacturing order until all its child manufacturing orders are produced.
Here are the steps to set up this feature:
Go to the Manufacturing app and select a Manufacturing Order (MO) that is a parent of other MOs.
Click on the "Edit" button to open the MO in edit mode.
Scroll down to the "Operations" section and click on the "Restrict Production Lots" button.
In the pop-up window, select the child MOs that you want to restrict production for.
Save the changes to the parent MO.
Once you have set up the "Restrict Production Lots" feature for a parent MO, the system will prevent you from producing the parent MO until all its child MOs have been produced.
If a user tries to produce the parent MO before its child MOs are produced, they will see an error message saying that the production is restricted until all the child MOs are produced.
Note that this feature requires that the MOs are linked together as parent and child MOs using the "Source MO" field in the child MO. If the MOs are not linked together in this way, the "Restrict Production Lots" feature will not work.
In which version do you find this. I checke V16 EE, and cannot see it.
Hi Lars, I apologize for the confusion. The "Restrict Production Lots" feature is actually available in Odoo version 14 and higher, including version 16 EE.
To use this feature, you need to enable the "Restrict Production Lots" option in the manufacturing settings. Here are the steps to do this:
Go to the Manufacturing app and open the settings by clicking on the "Settings" button in the top right corner.
Scroll down to the "Operations" section and enable the "Restrict Production Lots" option.
Save the changes and close the settings.
Once you have enabled this option, you can use the "Restrict Production Lots" button in the operations tab of a parent manufacturing order to restrict the production of the parent order until all its child orders are produced.
Hi Bhavin, i am using version 16 and no such option is available when i check in manufacturing settings. Are you using an additional app for this?
