Suppose I am doing a manufacturing order and it passes through 10 work orders. Suppose that I finish the first 5 and then I do a quality check, if it passes I go to work order 6, if not I go back to work order 4. How can I achieve this in Odoo 16? what are the best practices for implementing it?

If it does not pass the quality check, what do you do? Scrap it? Or rework?
Do you use traceability (lot numbering)?

I don't believe the Odoo system is the problem. Odoo has a scrap management and disassembly solution. You can rework any production orders and inspect the quality.

To achieve the scenario you've described in Odoo 16, where a manufacturing order passes through 10 work orders, undergoes a quality check after the first five work orders, and proceeds based on the result, you can leverage Odoo's quality control features and work order routing capabilities.

In this scenario I would have choosen to use multilevel manufacturing: After processing operation 5 - post seminifished to stock/qualitycheck location.  After QA check, a new production order where the semifinished product is a component if it passes the test. If not pass the test, either scrap or refurbish order.  Refurbish order (process 4 and 5) should again deliver to stock (I think. (I think there is an app for repair, that might be used.)

Hope this helps you.

I don't think the issue lies with the Odoo system. Odoo provides a system for dismantling and controlling scrap. You can check the quality and redo any production orders.
