I would like to request an enhancement for the Time Off module. Currently, our employees’ working schedule includes weekly 1 day off (weekend), and weekends do not have any work entries. As a result, when employees request time off (paid time off), weekends are not counted in the total accrued leave days.
I would like the system to include weekends in leave calculations, even though there are no work entries for those days. This is to ensure leave requests reflect calendar days rather than only working days. I have no clue, how other companies are working with odoo payroll. Maybe because we don't have a payroll localization in oman.
Suggested approach:
Add an option in leave types to count calendar days, including weekends.
Ensure leave requests correctly calculate total days when this option is selected.
Is any of the above possible without going for customizations!

Could you please advise which countries or practices treat a one-month leave request (01-12-2025 to 31-12-2025) as 26 leave days, assuming the company’s working schedule includes one weekly off day (weekends)?
Based on my understanding, most companies still consider one full month of leave as 30 calendar days, rather than 26 working days, when an employee applies for a continuous one-month leave. I would like to clearly understand this difference so we can avoid going deeper into configurations without having clarity on whether Odoo Payroll will suit our operational requirements.
At present, there are many payroll and POS software solutions available in the market that are easy to adapt and require minimal customization. We previously attempted to use Odoo POS, but faced several limitations and frequent requirements for paid customizations even for basic features, which are readily available in many lower-cost POS systems.
While we genuinely like the Odoo platform, these limitations and the dependency on custom development have caused some disappointment in continuing with Odoo Payroll and POS. That said, we do plan to continue using Odoo for accounting purposes.
Your clarification on the leave accrual practice will help us make a more informed decision.
