Hi,

By default itself in the kanban view and in tree view, you can see all the employee records, if the fields in the kanban are not enough you can add the required fields to the kanban view, so that you can get the necessary enough from there. Either you can use the default employees menu as such or you can create a new menu by naming it as dashboard. Also you can set some record rules, so that user can edit only his record.

If you are not satisfied with the above method, you can refer these module available in the app store and do one dashboard of your own.
