I am using Odoo 18 Accounting and I would like to perform a partial reconciliation directly from the Journal Items screen (Journal Items / Account Move Lines), not from the invoice or payment form.

Specifically, I want to:

1. Select journal items from the Journal Items list view

2. Reconcile only part of the amount, not the full balance

3. Manually enter or control the partial amount to be reconciled

My questions are:

• Is it possible in Odoo 18 to perform a partial reconciliation from the Journal Items view?

• How can I specify the amount to reconcile instead of reconciling the full residual amount?

• Does Odoo automatically create a record in account.partial.reconcile when doing this?

• Are there any UI limitations that prevent partial reconciliation from this screen?

• If partial reconciliation is not supported directly from the Journal Items view, what is the recommended workaround?

My goal is to manage partial payments and outstanding balances directly from journal items, without opening invoices or payments.

Any clarification or best practice would be highly appreciated.
