I am currently running Odoo Enterprise Edition successfully on my local machine using the .deb package. Now, I want to add custom modules to it, but I am unsure how to proceed with integrating these custom modules into the existing setup.

You should add your custom modules in a separate directory and then add the path of your custom addons inside Odoo config file.
