Hi,
From an accounting perspective in Odoo, it's not necessary to create a separate journal for each POS register and payment method. Instead, create separate journals for each distinct payment method (e.g., cash, credit card) and for each bank account where POS proceeds are deposited. This allows for easier reconciliation with bank statements and payment processors.
Configure each POS register to link to the appropriate payment method journal. At the end of the day, close the POS session to reconcile cash and create journal entries transferring funds to the bank account journal (or a clearing account, if used). This approach balances detailed tracking with manageable accounting complexity, avoiding an unwieldy chart of accounts.
