Database size growing due to attachments!

Question

Hi all,

my odoo db is running very large, mostly due to a high amount of attachments in crm and project app. Is this dangerous regarding responsiveness and speed?

the filestore size is currently 40 GB. Because of Odoo.sh's  [1] backups and staging branches, the total size amounts to 200+ GB.

Here are my questions:
whats the best way to reduce the database size deletion? will archiving records help? can i reduce the number of backups from 3 to 2? (=~25% less data) once reached, how seamless is

The best way to reduce your database size is you have to move attachment somewhere else like google drive, Microsoft onedrive, etc. There are two types of attachments in odoo 'file' or 'url' in your case currently attachments will be File type once to move your attachment to other place you can change type to Url and add attachment public url there and remove old data.
