When looking for stable 7.0 Debian/Ubuntu packages I:
- Go to openerp.com
- click on Pricing & Download
- click on Debian/Ubuntu
am redirected to (can't post links) From the url, this doesn't seem like stable, but nighty builds. It explains that "Every night a new set of packages (exe, tgz, deb, rpm) is generated automatically for the following branches:
7.0 LTS (stable) 6.1 (unsupported) 6.0 LTS (old stable) trunk (development) "
I click on "7.0 LTS (stable)"
- click on "nightly/"
- "deb/" It seems that these are, as it was explained earlier, nightly builds of the stable branch (7.0).
My question is whether this is a recommended channel to use for production.
And I would like to add that this is confusing. This is the first time that I've encountered the terms "nightly" and "stable" together in an open source project. I understand that these are nightly builds of the stable branch but usually there is no such thing as a stable branch. The term stable is used as "stable release", as in "7.0".
Thanks, Shahar
Shahar, I to am curious about this. As I work to figure out our production stack, I'm curious as to how often one should upgrade.
Apparently, Tiny take a very unique approach in regards to the term stable.
