Client Solution Developer at Odoo.
In this talk, you will learn how to use your domain name and email servers with Odoo.
As an introduction, we will review the different components involved in the delivery of an email. You will become more familiar with some notions like SMTP, DNS, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, SPAM filters, etc. Then we will explore the different configuration facilities Odoo provides regarding outgoing and incoming emails.
You will also understand how the "catchall" mechanism works, meaning how an email sent to Odoo is redirected to the chatter correctly. So you will be able to configure your email environment properly according to your needs and the infrastructure you use: SaaS, Odoo.sh or on-premise.
The target audience is anyone (developer, system administrator and even analyst) who is not familiar with the email environment and DNS configuration, or who simply wants to refresh some knowledge about these topics.
