A Celebration to Remember
Some milestones not only mark success, but also define the future. This August, Odoo India has proudly written its name into history by being officially recognised by both the Asia Book of Records and the India Book of Records for hosting the largest offline recruitment hackathon in Asia. With this recognition, the Odoo Hackathon 2025 is more than just a competition-it’s a revolution in how young talent meets opportunity.
The Road to Records
It all began in June 2024 with Odoo Combat, our first open recruitment hackathon. Over 3,000 students joined, and many promising developers came on board.
Encouraged by the response, Odoo scaled the initiative, collaborating with top universities and IITs to bring hackathons closer to young talent. What started as an idea found its grand stage in the Odoo Hackathon 2025.
Scaling Hackathons into a Nationwide Recruitment Drive
What began as 18,000+ registrations quickly turned into the challenge of onboarding thousands smoothly. By July 12th, 4,700+ teams were competing virtually with guidance from 100+ reviewers.
Then came 4,000+ projects to review-a mountain made manageable with AI-driven evaluation that sped things up and kept it fair. From there, 354 teams-1,100+ bright minds-earned their spot on the big stage.
The final hurdle? Hosting them all onsite for 24+ hours. The Hackathon was a true celebration of innovation and teamwork thanks to smart planning, high energy, and dedicated volunteers.
