Recover Database File from a broken machine

Question

Hi,
I had odoo 8.0 running in a machine that stopped working without doing an DB backup file. However the disk still working... is it possible to find the files in the disk of the existent DB and recover it for a new machine installation?

If you want to recover from a remote machine,
- backup the odoo filestore, for the location check this: https://www.odoo.com/forum/help-1/question/ir-attachment-location-for-v8-45571 [1]
- try to connect your remote postgres to the postgres database files, see this for information about the locations: https://www.postgresql.org/docs/9.3/static/storage-file-layout.html [2]

Thanks Ermin,

I already did the backup of the files, but I'm having problems in the second part. Can you be more explicit of how can I do it?! Sorry for the question but unfortunately I don´t understand that much this...
