Hi As we currently use SugarCRM (and have custom-developped modules that import data from other sources), we'll need to import clients data if we are to switch to OpenERP for CRM usage, both when we start, and periodically for updating fresh data from our external provider. First of all is it possible to do so without SugarCRM at all after initial import, ie direct import to OpenERP's crm module from our external MySQL source, and how ? Else how can that SugarCRM -> OpenERP import work ? Can the online version support a serious volume of many thousands of clients and prospects ? Best regards.

Hello: you can import from csv files.

This king of data migration might be best achieved using Kettle / Pentaho Data Integration. You'll need to learn about ETL, but I assure you it's really worth it.

Additionaly, there is a SugarCRM plugin avalibale that "allows you to access all data available in SugarCRM modules." (Though couldn't find a download link, sorry.)

Caution. There are problems with the Kettle module for OpenERP V7.

Hi there,

You cam migrate SugarCRM to Odoo (OpenERP) directly using Data2CRM online migration service.

Hello: you can import from csv files. The official repository module don't content SugarCRM Import. But he is in the extra addons.

So you can't install him in the online version proposed by openerp.

You could build a simple data migration job with Talend Open Studio. That's relatively simple and you are in control of the whole process. Done this with vTiger contacts and organisations.
