When an event is linked to a recurrence starting date and duration cannot be modified. Neither accessing to the event in edit mode nor dragging the event to the new date/duration. 

Also, when the event is dragged it becomes non-recurrent without notification to the user. 

Is there any way of modifying these meeting details without missing the recurrency status of the event?
