Hello,

I've notice in shop floor when I'm below the projected quantity of parts to be made (ex. 97/99) and I validate the quantity, "mark as done" and "close production" a back order is created automatically.

I'm hoping to find an answer on how to have Odoo prompt the "would you like to create a backorder" banner like it does for receipts and deliveries in the Inventory module.

It will not create the back order automatically. If you produce partial and close the production it will ask you to create the back order. if you click on No option it will not create the back order

I don't want to block the creation on every MO there are some that may need a back order.

I've attached images to show the sequence of what I'm experiencing. I have everything set the same way as you've shown. The backorder is still being created without a prompt. I'm hoping to see anyone may have other answers. Thanks for taking a look at this!

If you want to block back order creation.

First check the operation type of your manufacturing order.

Then click there( or please go to inventory->configuration->operation types)

Select never option.
