Hi I have a product set up for a key and a lock.

They are set up as a 'KEY' in the initial view, but as its a security key and is sent out to different sites, they cannot all have the same key cut as this would prove a security risk.  So when you click into the key there are about 600 different codes in the Attributes & Varients tab.  

The lock element is exactly the same as they should mirror each other.

On Wednesday I was trying to add in another variant description which I managed successfully on the key element. However when I went to add in the same code on the lock element, my screen froze and I got the blue circle of doom.  

When I closed the tab on my screen and reopened it, instead of having one code on the locks with 600 descriptions, it looks like it has fragmented and I now have 600 extra products.

How do I sweep all these products back into one variant code?  Any ideas?  

I don't want to do a system refresh as I will lose too much other work if it's reset, but just wondered if there were any quick wins?  It was about 13:30 gmt on Wednesday that this happened if anything affected anything else?
