In case of selling a computer (normal sales item) and a support subscription (recurring sales item) the whole sale order becomes recurring. When confirming the order a subscription is created for the total value of the sale order including the price of the computer.

I would expect to have the subscription generated only for the subscription line not for the whole sale order.

How can I prevent this from happening?

The problem is that when selling a computer and a support subscription in Odoo, the entire sales order becomes recurring, including the price of the computer. To prevent this, you can split the sale order into two separate orders or create a custom module to modify the system behavior.


Another possible solution could be to create a custom module in Odoo that modifies the behavior of the system. According to thenewsinsides subscription's guide you could modify the code to only create a subscription for the subscription line and not for the entire sale order. However, this would require technical expertise in Odoo development.

Hi Johnny, the initial invoice does show all entries, but you'll find that at the next invoice occurrence, it will only show the recurring products.
