Hi, 

I'm evaluating the usage of odoo for our company. 

With Studio, I created a new app. To simplify, consider this app as a report event generator : I slect name of customer, choose from a drop down list 1 item, select a checkbox OK / NOK and then signature from customer . 

What I would like to do is to send an email with the content of the "event report" . I do not find how : 

Send the email ( I see that I can export , archive ...Etc.. but no option with "send email ) 

content :  Info could be a plain email, a pdf attached to the email ... 

note : I must be able to send / resend the same report if needed

Can someone 

1 - confirm me it is possible ( I think so but beeing a rookie on Odoo ..)

2 - point me to appropriate documentation or better of course, provide me with solution

Hello,

This is doable.

The steps to do so would be:

1- Create a email template linked to your module

2- Using Studio, create a "Send Email" button that will send the email template you allready created

As a side note, if you want to attach a pdf to the email, you will first need to create a Report (that is the name of pds in Odoo) using Studio, and then in the email template you created, add it as an attachement


A screenshot of your app or the report you want to send would help us a lot to help you better

Thanks for your answer and sorry for the delay, notification went in spam.

Thanks to your answer, I'm able to rely on "onsite work" and achieve my first goal which was to send a report attached. I modified the app with Studio, the trick being that the report generation beeing a single step ( and not all at the same moment).

Thanks a lot for your insights, you answered and solved in indirect way my need
