I need to upgrade my PHP from version 5 to 7 on my server. Is anyone aware of any effect on my Odoo v 9 installation?

No effect to your Odoo installation, you can upgrade your PHP versions.
Note : There is huge difference from PHP 5 to 7, backuping your files may helpful.

According to my opinion there will be no Effect at all... you can upgrade ...in any emergency case take backup first ..
