Google urges you to use GA4 properties instead.
I take it Odoo 16 will have no other option than to move to GA4. But will it be backported to v15 ?
I see Garazd Creation has a few modules for sale offering support for GA4.

Thank you for mentioning our GA4 solution. Our solution has more enhanced functionality and captures all GA4 eCommerce events:
"view_item", "view_item_list", "search", "add_to_cart" (from the product grid/list and product webpage), "begin_checkout", "add_shipping_info", "add_payment_info", "purchase".
The data, that are sending to Google Analytics 4, contains all required event parameters and properly handles product prices which can be changed during checkout (when discounts and promo coupons are applied).
Recently, we have developed a new website tracking logic that allows to integrate with different advertising and analytic systems, such as Google Analytics 4, Facebook Pixel, Facebook Conversion API (CAPI), Pinterest Tag, TikTok Pixel and other. The additional service integration is implemented through separate modules.
The new functionality allows activating logging of website events to Odoo internally as well.
The Odoo Google Analytics 4 app is available in Odoo Apps store.
This GA4 app has extensions for Website Events module and eCommerce Shopper's Wishlist app.

As you can see here, Odoo 15.0 is already adapted for Analytics 4. If you hace a previous version of Odoo, (like me) you need to insert de GA tracker code manually on `website.layout` changing the `async` attribute to `t-att-async="true"`. At least it works for me.

Not sure what you are referring to ... but Odoo 15 is using Universal tracking (UA) and not GA4

In case it is relevant, Odoo v16 will offer an alternative to GA - see https://www.odoo.com/documentation/master/applications/websites/website/optimize/plausible.html
@ray as UA will be deprecated about the time 16 launches, it means out of the box support for GA will be dropped, as you are teaming up with plausible ?
