My ultimate goal is that project managers they only have access to projects and tasks they are assigned to, members of or in the same department as. However since the documentation for access control leaves some to be desired that will have to wait.

The immediate need though is for restricting access to the tasks. With several projects and hundreds of tasks I want to restrict the tasks displayed for a project manger to those he is assigned to or those tasks that are part of a project he follows. I have tried a number of things including [('message_follower_ids','in', [user.partner_id.id])] but none of it seems to work.

Any help would be highly appreciated.
