We have locked our GL and Tax Period at the end of the year:
I am able to unlock the GL but am not allowed to unlock for Sales Tax purposes.
What will Odoo do since the GL allows posting but the Tax Lock Date will still be set at 12/31/2020 ?

If you have a Tax Lock Date on or after the date you need to post a Customer Invoice, Odoo will warn you but use the Accounting Date of the next available period:
In this case, the December Invoice will have an Invoice Date of 12/31/2020 but the posting date (date of the Journal Entry) will use the Accounting Date of 01/01/2021.
